Thank you and hear from you all rgds and thanks Jason I don't know exactly what you want to do, but I have used the Motorola MC1330 Synchronous Video detector as a CW-SSB/AM synchronous detector at a 9 MHz IF. The MC1330 uses Gilbert Cells. For AM you need an LC tuned circuit at the IF frequency; For CW-SSB you feed a BFO signal (square wave works fine) into the MC1330 at the same point. The DC level at the MC1330 output depends on the signal amplitude; so, that can be used to derive an AGC voltage. Tuning an AM signal is uncanny, in that a signal will sort of pop in.
