Default Log Periodic question

Does anyone recall the Tennadyne HF "Eagle" log periodic antenna and
howmany elements it had? I was looking at the Tennadyne site and found
they do not make less than 6 elements anymore for HF.

Hi Butch:
Sorry I don't have any information the Eagle log periodic. But I would think
that anything less than 6 elements would not be of much use on HF. Unless it
covered maybe only 20 to 15M or something. I have the 6 element version of
the Tennadyne Log and I'm very happy with it. Not too big and works very
will for me.

Dear Butch - no call:
You will find any of the Tennadyne LPDAs to work as well as can be
expected (for the number of elements used and boom length). The mechanical
tolerances on their parts are so tight (desirable) that one needs quite a
bit of hand-fitting. One should pay for the option that strengthens the
boom where the largest element is placed. On the longer booms, one should
use more of a truss than recommended.

One must use a balun right at the boom to mast transition in order to
preserve a clean pattern. Most easy way to do so is to coil the coax
connected to the front of the LPDA on a form that bridges the insulated
coupling to the support mast.
