All currents are fed via the coax and there is no separate 12v line. The rig knows where the ATAS is tuned to and adjusts it accordingly when you press the tune button. The ATAS can be manually tuned using the up and down buttons but in my experience this is never required. Even on 40m (7.0 - 7.2MHz here in the UK) once tuned to the centre of the band retuning within the band is not required. I have changed the standard whip on my ATAS 120 for one that is about a foot longer and it works great on all bands including 30, 17, 12 and 11m. I have never used it on the VHF or UHF bands as I have a separate antenna for these bands. Drop me an email if you want any more information. Jon G2FHF |
