Antenna and Grounding question
Finally Moving back to an area where I can use my rig again. I will be
in a two story house and was wondering how running a wire around 2 or 3 sides of the house, under the roof overhang eaves would work. Its actually a "stilt" type or "beach" type house, and the roof eaves are probably 25 feet up. I had a long wire some years ago, and got great results. Would this work well, and should I use 2 or 3 or all 4 sides? Also... Grounding from the 2nd floor.... Is that going to be a problem?? Thanks in advance. Gene K3ASA |

Gene K3ASA If you ran the wire around all 4 sides of the house, you could build a horizontal loop. They work great, but be aware that you are living "inside" the antenna and RF exposure could be a problem. I would run the wire around just 2 sides, the two sides least used for living and sleeping. .... Martin VE3OAT |
