I don't even unplug mine during thunderstorms.
Course the one lighting hit (I get about 3 a year) blew off all the
coax seal and I did end up with water running out of my 2-meter rig
onto the top of the desk...and floor. That was when I decided to
replace all the 9913 with LMR-400.

BTW, the rig still worked.
