Hi Richard,
That last 4 inches of line for a mast is history now. I had purchased a
mast mounting kit from M2 but when I installed it I was unable to tune the
loop down below about 2:1..so I put the mount away but the swr was erratic
during weather and wind. So..I got the bracket back out and looked it over
and "voila" I realized I had been mounting the antenna on it incorrectly.
Now the bracket works like a charm and all is well.

Charlie,
I installed the same antenna a couple years ago; like yourself I took
the time to carefully assemble per instructions and it was sitting
around 1.1:1 when tested (on a 10 foot mast in the middle of the yard)
and saw no change when installed in it's operating location. M2 makes
excellent products & you'll be happy with it's performance. FYI,
shortly after installing it, with my pipsqueak 40 watt radio I managed
a 275 mile contact which is my record distance on 2 meters. Wish you
lot's of enjoyment with your new toy!

Howard
