some hams would be able to hear some signals
even before they were transmitted,
(WTF)
giving him the time to adjust his rotor,
his antenna tuner, and his hearing before the signal arrives.
If the signal leaves the antenna before its transmitted, then the concern
over impedance matching would be for naught. (LEAVES BEFORE TRANSMITTED
THAT IS A GOOD ONE)
