How about doing it through a few thousand kilometers,

The USA PBS TV network is showing a new program,

"American Experience: The Great Transatlantic Cable"

tonight (April 11, 2005) at 9pm EDT.

If you can't get PBS, a google search for
"Transatlantic Cable" "Cyrus Field"
brings up several links that look promising.

They burned the first cable up. Just more voltage than it could handle.
Thats why it lasted 20 days.

PBS Stations are independent stations and usually Tape Delay programs,
the Date and Time of the program will be different for every station.
