Just for the heck of it, I constructed one of these from 1 inch copper,
under 12 inches for the 10 meter band, operation at 100 watts. It is on a
20 ft mast and does well for its size--does it rival a 1/2 full physical
length? No. frown
But, a less than 16 ft vertical omni on 160 meters is an interesting
antenna--and one which could almost replace your coffee table book as a
conversation piece... grin
