CM AFAIAC the background radiation proves the Big Bang.

The discovery of the Microwave Background Radiation was even predicted
but it was accidentally discovered first by microwave antenna
designers (Arno Penzias & Robert Wilson) who couldn't explain why
their figures didn't agree with the measurements once the antenna was
built. It would have been forgotten about but luckily they had read
about the earlier prediction and contacted the scientist (Robert H.
Dicke). A Nobel Prize was awarded...
