Default Comet CHA250b - Any Comments Yet?

I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on Comets new
vertical, the CHA250B that was reviewed in this months CQ.

A reprint of the review can be found at:

http://www.benelec.com.au/pdf/Comet-CHA250B-Review.pdf

Seems a little pricey at over $430 (AES) but then again, a good
screwdriver costs almost that much.

I wonder what kind of "Matching Network" it uses that it can be so
broadbanded?

Dear Dave also in MI:
The bracket (at the bottom of the antenna) appears to include three
attachments to the antenna. The picture seems to indicate that the highest
attachment is insulated from the antenna proper.
If you know, are either of the other two attachments insulated?

It is difficult to believe that a passive antenna with no moving parts
is able to present an impedance of about 50 ohms over three octaves without
using resistance to swamp the reactance.

It will be interesting to learn what is inside.

I can come close with a ladder-line length selector but
I can't hide it inside.
