The slotted coax balun that I suggested is a viable possibility.

The half-wave balun that you proposed (I suspect before you actually
noted the frequency) is not. The application cries out for semi-rigid
coax and bending that half-wave balun without exceeding the bend
radius limitation is an issue. Similar problems lurk with a gamma
match which is lousy at vhf and would be a really bad idea at 2.4 GHz.

Etch it on pc board. Come to think of it - at that wavelenth - simply etch
the entire antenna on a board.


IMHO, designing and building a Yagi at 2.4 GHz is a bad idea from the
beginning but I assume the OP has an assigned project and he's stuck
with it. If not, he should be building a horn.

Designing one on microstrip is an even bigger can of worms. (An
American idiom similar to Pandora's Box)
