If I mount the Penetrator there, the very top of it might come even
with the top of the cab. I have been told, by them, whomever them is, that the loading coil on any antenna needs to be above cab height Will I need to go to the old standby, the 102" stainless steel, DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF FIBERGLASS! I have seen a couple of advertisements for those. I just don't see how that, made of FG, antenna could ever last very long. I wonder if taking a piece of conduit, I have an antenna mount that is made of 1" or so of metal, has the curves in it to mount on pipe and such. I would not be using the curved part but taking self-tapping screws screw that mount to 3/4" conduit or so and then mount that conduit to the bed of the truck, in between the cab and bed, before the cover was put on. Would use U-bolts to mount the conduit, a minimum of three of them. And by mounting it there, make the coil stick up XX above the cab of the truck I am not familiar with a screwdriver antenna setup. Is it for 2-4-6 or even 10 meter? |
