I've had good luck with my Butternut which I've had for about 15
years. Mine doesn't have the WARC except for 30 meters but you can get one that does do WARC's and even mine can be modified with an aftermarket conversion kit from Butternut. I have had two occasions to order replacement parts (a matching section and a "doornob" capacitor and sevice from Bencher was outstanding...about two days from Chicago area to Maryland. Mine is ground mounted. Its been good for DXCC, mostly on 40. 80 meter bandwidth is quite narrow though, but I have about 30 countries with it. I think they have another version, a bit taller, which is for 80 and 40 only. I don't remember if they sell 160 coils. I had my house painted last year, and the painter's ladder got into an argument with the antenna a few times, and just about destroyed it. I'm looking for something that will do at least 80 thru 10--WARC bands would be nice, and if there is one that also covers 160, that would even be nicer. What do you recommend.
