Even more frustrating is the number of school buses controlled by a black

As I was somewhat involved in the political debacle, I can tell you from
personal experience that Red Cross and amateur radio vans were prohibited
from entering the disaster area.

My cynical side says that in the background, a chance was both seen and
taken to make George Bush look bad. The democrat political machine in New
Orleans is only surpassed by that of Chicago.

It is a tad more than that, Fred.

One of the things that causes me to question the astuteness of so
many Republicans is that they steadfastly refuse to take any
responsibility for anything. Ever.

They are in power now. They hold the House, the Senate, and the
White House. They quite simply ARE responsible by default.

Mike, It seems that you do NOT understand the Federalist, philosophic
and political principle of Subsidiarity.

In a Federalist system, such as the USA, responsibility begins at the
LOWEST level of government and rises as the problems exceed local
capability. Then local government [eg. city] requests assistance from
the next level of government [eg county]. County, after they cannot
assist, requests assistance from state. State then requests assistance
from regional or Federal government. It does take time for things to rise.

In you view the national government, GW Bush, is 100% responsible if a
city fence falls into your backyard. It doesn't work that way.

Also, you seem to forget that the MOST POWERFUL person in the National
Government is NOT the President. It's not even in the Executive Branch.
Do you know who it is? Think about it!

Hi Phil,

What a nervous twitch. Eager to pin it to 100% as more easily
defended? Zen politics.

Reading across the republican spectrum reveals that they are
struggling with his performance far more than the left - and no doubt
given this is the first left-wing fascist administration they've ever
backed.

It won't be many years before the republicans blame Clinton for GW.
You see, that is what works for tying 100% responsibility (or 68%,
minimum passing).
