Default W9INN antenna Help

My question is when running a ballun as the W9INN antenna does.
Can it be hung right to the tower leg or should it be on a stand off.
To keep it away from the tower legs buy 3

Steve,

I have been using a W9INN antenna system for years and I don't think
Bill (w9inn now SK) ever sold an antenna with a balun. His antennas
came with a balun looking device that was just a center insulator.

FYI, I have my W9INN 80/40 dipole mounted on a 1 foot stand off with
cord and pulley arrangement for easy adjustments. I modified the
antenna by adding extra wire sets for the WARC bands and it now should
be called a fan dipole in a Vee configuration.

It has always performed well and we are all going to miss Bill, W9INN.
I recalled years ago working Bill on 40 meters and he said I was the
first person he had ever really worked on the air using one of his
antennas.
