Which is the better coax 8214 or RG-213, my friend swears by the 8214.

8214 is a Belden part number for an RG-8 (0.405" OD) type cable. So
if you buy 8214 you get Belden quality cable.

RG-213 is a generic part number for the same sized cable supplied by
any number of suppliers, some good, some not so good.

If it is a good supplier, then there is no difference between them.
