Nothing much has changed, OM. I've been doing this since early 1962 and
it's almost all the same except that the gear is fancier. More and more of
the painted stuff gets sent out to be powder coated or flame sprayed --
techniques that have come into use since our first days -- but you still
have to keep gummint property and salt air on opposite sides of some
barrier. We have shore maintenance shops devoted to Corrosion Control in
every Navy port.
