Yes, it WILL melt rubber and plastic, very strongly. Be careful with it.
It's okay on some phenolic plastics, but styrenes and vinyls are very
quickly destroyed. And it may not even be okay on all phenolics so test
first.

This is not a reason not to use it, it's just a reason to be VERY CAREFUL
when you use it.
