And, it is a modern version of the 829, a dual tetrode used in radar service
in WW II. During the Korean war, the 4D32 that was used in the Viking I and a few other rigs was grabbed up by the military and none were available for civilian sale. So, the 829 was stuck in its place. I still have an 829 in mine. Many came from the factory that way. The 5894 is a good tube. Besides use in parallel for the rf, it can be used as a modulator. 73, Colin K7FM |
