The 30 Steps below will help all No-Code Hams, it will also help you to find others just like yourself. These 30 steps should also be added to the present writtens. Hilarious! I am going to print these out and give them out at the next Repeater Group meeting. (which I am forced to attend since it is also the local RACES group meeting :-( |

NQ5H I guess repeaters in general, whether it GMRS, commercial, or Ham, will still use CW identifiers, they even use it on satellites.. It seems strange, but it will be that way for a long time. greg N6GS |

And yes, when more code operators die they are just as dead as any other amateur radio operator who has passed away. |

FWIW - when one "presses the mic button to talk" - they are considered to be "KEYING" the mic. Therefore - anyone who is a ham - be they a "code" key user OR "key" a mic - would still pass as a "silent "key" " The code is GONE - there is nothing we can do about its demise - so lets start PROMOTING decent Radio Skills - beginning with the vanishment of insulting amongst the ranks first off - and those who "might" be considering coming into the hobby. |

Yep, geting rid of the insults just might result in more folks joining the ranks of amateur radio. 73 from Rochester, NY Jim AA2QA |

(No, it just isn't very popular among the current crowd.) Is RTTY gone? (No, it just isn't very popular among the current crowd.) Is packet gone? (No, it just ... etc, etc, etc) I'm going to quit now before I get too obvious :-) "Sal" In total agreement that radios-r-fun. |

I meant only in the "testing" - which has spawned months if not years of hateful arguments - so it is pointless to remain at odds with others over it. Sure - CW, AM, RTTY, etc - are still all there to be used and enjoyed by those with personal preference. And as well - they should be! Use them to your hearts content! |
