Looking for an old piece of HP gear, can't even remember what it was
originally. Doesn't matter, just want the cabinet which can look like anything as long as it's not dented or drilled upon. (Original was a crackled brown) The item may have been their old VTVM, or possibly an audio oscillator. The dimensions are 7 inches wide, by 10 inches high by 13 inches deep. Most readily identified by having 4 banks of louvers sides and top. They made some other items in a box a couple inches shorter and only 3 sets of louvers and I don't need any of those. Sounds like the case for a 410A/B VTVM or maybe the 200CD Oscillator?

Could be, I long ago chucked the tube stuff inside, and have no recollection
of what it originally contained. I just need another cabinet like the first one. Tnx W4ZCB "K3HVG" wrote in message ... Sounds like the case for a 410A/B VTVM or maybe the 200CD Oscillator? Harold E. Although I have several of them, they all contain working instruments so I can't part with them. Your best bet would probably be a hamfest. Dale H. On my list for both the Orlando and Charlotte hamfests. Regards W4ZCB |

Harold - I own a few modern multimeters, both digital and analog, which I use for work. I also collect and restore tube-era instruments, and use them to repair, restore and calibrate other instruments, as well as to repair and restore antique radios. That is why the cabinets are not available. In any case I would have to charge for an entire restored and calibrated instrument, which a) is far more than the cabinet is worth, and b) I would be loathe to part an instrument in my collection in any case. :-) On my list for both the Orlando and Charlotte hamfests. You should have no trouble finding one - several years ago I bought a 400D VTVM in quite decent condition at the Spencer NC hamfest for $10.00. It didn't take much work to put it back into working order - just some cosmetic work, then the usual switch cleaning and calibration. Dale H.
