Is there anywhere you can just buy an R-390 for a reasonable price instead
of waiting on Ebay and watching it go to over a 1000 bucks?

Only place I know is hamfests and if you don't find it first it'll end
up on the Bay.

You can call Chuck Rippel and buy a totally overhauled one. Admittedly,
it's over a thousand bucks, but it's reliable and guaranteed, which is
almost certainly not the case for Ebay items.

I bought mine at the Mike and Key ARC hamfest for $75, but that was
over 20 years ago. If you want bargains, don't look on E-pay. Hit
the hamfests and see if you get lucky like I did. There was one at
the St. Joseph hamfest last January . . .
