Those of you who have attended the MIT flea market(s) in the past...

I am told that the MIT flea market is almost all computer gear and other
electronic gear (e.g. lab equipment) and very little ham radio gear. On
average is this true or false?

I have a bit of a phobia about driving into Boston, haven't done it for
years and am not looking forward to the next time, so I'd like to find out
more about it before I attempt to make the trip...

Several years ago I heard the same comment from a co-worker, W1KSZ, who lives in
Lexington, Massachusetts. If you contact me directly I'll email you his email
address offlist so you can contact him directly.

If you are looking for a 'ham' flea market, NEARfest at the Deerfield Fair
Grounds in Deerfield, NH on the first weekend in May [4th & 5th] may meet your
needs.

Good morning, Dave.

Thanks, and say hi to Richard for me... I remember him from the old Heavy
Hitters days back in the 1970's and 1980's. He might remember me...

Yeah, you have no idea how upset I was when Hosstraders was kind of
summarily canceled. I was glad to hear about NEARfest. I plan to be
there.

Yes, but this is sadly true of almost all hamfests these days. There is
far too much computer gear, and most of it isn't old and interesting computer
gear either.

Still, if you are looking for components and parts or stuff to be scrapped
for same, it's worth the trip.

Where do you live? Can you rope someone into carpooling with you.

I'm looking for broken video projectors just so I can figure out how those
Ushio sealed arclamp systems work. Also, I am looking for the old RCA
HB-3 tube handbook (the SECOND receiving tube volume and the first transmitting
tube volume). Places like the MIT Flea are great for that, even if you won't
find an R-390 there.
