Hi All; A friend of mine has a DX-100 that is working but the loading control switch has a few hot-switched contacts. He wud like to make it a DX-100B, I think they made a kit to do that. The kit actually converted the DX-100 to a "DX-100A". (There were no DX-100As from the factory). The modification kit did indeed exist; I have seen it referred to as the "Mk.3" kit, though its real name is probably something else. There's enough room inside a DX-100 that a homebrew mod could probably be done by replacing the existing coarse loading switch with a dual or triple 365 uuf variable. Probably need gear or pulley drive for it. 73 de Jim, N2EY (wondering why I ever sold my DX-100....) |
