Why dont I see any restorations or sales of this Heathkit? It was pretty
nice as I remember. It was the first TX I heard myself on SSB and I couldnt
stop laughing.

Swan 500 - S Meter moves with Audio Gain Control

I have a Swan 500 and spent quite a bit of time restoring it. It is now
working well on receive and transmit.

One thing that has me puzzled though:

when you back off the audio control with the RF gain sitting at around say
12 or 3 oclock the S Meter moves to the right and if you reduce the audio
down far enough the S Meter is at the end of the scale. I have replaced the
electrolytics and the diodes in the RF gain circuit and all the valves have
been replaced. I can see that the audio...

This information is also in the thread about my Heath SB-110A. However,
many people probably have not looked at that thread and yet may be
interested in this information. Therefore, another thread!



There were a very small number (when compared to the total units sold) of
kits that were actually built at the Heath factory usually for display at
the various Heathkit stores that were located around the country. Those
kits had a "sticker" put somewhere on the unit that...
