Yep, a bridge of 1N1007's did the trick, in both locations. Turn down the
filamant pot, first, then power-up and re-adjust with the filament voltage to the required 1.4 volts. Before replacing the diodes, the best I could get was about 1.2 volts. I also posted a closeup photo in the alt.binaries.pictures.radio newsgroup. need to change out the old metallic rectifier stack in the HV/AC portion of the PS and the 2 selinium rectifiers used in the filamant My AN/GRR-5 ( http://antiqueradio.org/angrr-5.htm ) works, but I should replace those rectifiers, I suppose. Did you use something like a 1N4007 diode? Haven't looked at the schematic in ages. Regards, Phil Nelson Phil's Old Radios http://antiqueradio.org/index.html |
