I like FM, though. --scott But someone may be looking for AM because they want to sample that, not because they just want to get on six meters. Traditionally, that military surplus FM equipment for six meters would get converted to AM, at least for receive, up until the point where FM took off on the band, at which point there were all those articles about modifying six meter AM ham transceivers for FM.
