Doug,
Of course, NOW somebody comes up with a link for you for a tone board made specifically for your rig. If you don't want to send back the Spec Com board, I think I know an easy way for you to find the modulation point...looking at the board that is a direct replacement for that rig, it appears the tone board plugs onto 7 or 8 pins that must be present in the radio. One of those MUST be the audio input to the modulator. Check the service manual to find the pinout for that connector and you should be home free... I bought the SS-64 tone encoder from Communications Specialists at http://www.com-spec.com/ss64.htm They don't have installation instructions for the TS-711A. I have 3 wires to hookup: Red: v+ Black: Ground Yellow: Modulator The first two I can handle but the yellow I need help with... I just received the service manual and schematics today but I still can't find the modulator. Does anyone know where to solder the yellow wire for tone out?
