writes: Dunno if the 901 is similar but I recall a friend who had suffered with puny receive on his rig for a long time and it turned out to be a simple fuse lamp on the input that had blown. I had this same problem (and easy fix) on a Kenwood R-600. Only it wasn't a soldered-in fuse lamp, but a genuine mini-fuse, such as found in VOM inputs. 73, Mike K. Oscar loves trash, but hates Spam!
