We are looking for information on a transceiver we have. According to
the tag, it is a VHF transceiver, model TRV-5A, Aerotron. The tag also
says Aeronautical Electronics, Inc. US Department of Commerce.

We are unable to find any information about this radio, its value, or
anything else. Can someone point us in the right direction?

It's a VHF air band transceiver, if it's what I think it is. AM-only,
wideband. No longer legal for use because of the wide channel spacings.
Not useful to convert over to the 2M band without adding an FM modulator.
Basically not worth anything other than for parts.
