Sorry, every I see one of these for sale I remember Dicks review of his new
purchase. It was cutting edge technology in its day



The FM27B generated spurs all over the place basically from about 130MHz up to
180MHz. The fortunate thing, for Clegg, was the spurs were mostly located in
ham frequencies, and in a few unused government allocations.

This got Heath in big trouble, as they used the Clegg's spurious emissions as the
standard with which to measure their new synthesized 2M rig. The only problem was
that their rig put out spurs of the same amplitude in the middle of the public service
allocations. Hams using the Heath rig were unintentionally keying up police and
fire repeaters in towns all over the country....OOPS! Major recall time.

Now-a-days, using a Clegg is a very dangerous thing todo. The allocations have changed,
and what was once unoccupied, is now in use. You are bound to get busted for
interferrence.
