I also have a 723 and the mavching 722 VFO (see =

One thing I did'nt like was the fact that, to switch from receive to =
transmit and viceversa, one must turn a knob. The same thing to tune the =
transmitter. Doing that many times, the plastic knob will surely break.

With the addition of a foot PTT (a pedal) and some rewiring of the =
transmitter, I can now operate it without ever touching the function =
switch knob:

- for tuning the transmitter just press the CW key=20
- for transmitting over the air, press the foot pedal too

I bought a Eico 723 TX in the early 60,s with the idea I would become =

I didn't become a ham until 1978 so I never did get to used the Eico =
723.
When I started in 1978 I bought a Heathkit HW-16 so I didn't need the =
Eico=20
so I sold it to another ham .
Seen this on ebay and had to have it.
