Hank, how are the cells arranged in the unit? If they are all in line
then it may be possible to assemble a cluster of 4 AA Alkaline cells to fit in that space. They would have a capacity not unlike four 1/2D carbon-zinc cells. Neil S. |

The 4 batteries are in series in a cambric (sp?) tube. There's room for a number of mods that I could do to get 6 volts but I thought I might be able to keep it original, its in very nice shape with all accessories.
