Uncle Peter, you're right! The operative words are "should have". But,
as Dirty Harry once famously asked, "How lucky do you feel?"

As long as the original poster realizes that all that is between him and
an eyeball rattling shock is 4 crumbling, rotted 50 year old rubber
washers that may or may not even be there, then he'll be OK...
