Cumulus Media announces that Ventura County, California’s KRRF 106.3 FM kicks off Memorial Day Weekend with a fresh sound and Classic Hip-Hop programming from the late ‘80’s and ‘90’s on the all-new radio station 106.3 SPIN-FM. The former Country-formatted station launched this afternoon at 12PM Noon PST. 106.3 SPIN-FM plays the party music of a generation and features songs by legendary hip-hop artists including: Snoop Dogg, 2 Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube, Puff Daddy, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and many more. At AC 96.5 KOIT, the recently departed Brent Carey is replaced by Freska, who moves over from middays at at Classic Hip-Hop Q102.1 KRBQ Billy Vidal will move up from weekends to take the open midday slot at KRBQ. Meanwhile at sister Urban AC 102.9 KBLX, Victor Zaragosa is leaving the Dream Team morning show with Kimmie Taylor and Mark Curry to move to afternoons. Tony Sculfield joins the station to take the vacant spot on the morning show. He joins from nights at Crawford Broadcastings 106.3 WSRB Lansing/Chicago. Bay Area afternoons just got a bit bigger and mornings just became a tad wittier. Legendary on-air personality Victor “Big Daddy” Zaragoza will be moving to the afternoon drive time slot on KBLX. Replacing Zaragoza is 16 – year radio veteran Tony Sculfield, whose personable and comical demeanor made him popular among radio fans. “I am excited for Victor Zaragoza’s return to afternoon drive. He is electrifying, fun, and engaging,” said Elroy Smith, Entercom San Francisco’s Operations Manager and Program Director. “Victor’s spirit is contagious to everyone who hears him.” Steve DiNardo, Entercom San Francisco’s Vice President and Market Manager added: “Victor is a Bay Area institution. Sculfield is a well-known actor and comedian, who along with fellow funny man Mark Curry and Kimmie Taylor will be sure to bring morning mayhem to the Bay Area. Entercom Communications San Francisco’s airwaves are set for a double dose of powerhouse radio. Q102 mid-day host Freska, will be making a move to the afternoon drive slot on 96.5 KOIT, while part time Q102 weekend host, Billy Vidal will move to mid-days. Freska will replace KOIT’s departing afternoon host Brent Carey. “Freska’s unique delivery, community relationships, and creative show ideas will build a strong connection for our listeners,” said Brian Figula, KOIT Program Director. KOIT coined “San Francisco’s Most Listened-to Station at Work,” boasts nearly 1.8 million weekly listeners.
