Christmas Music Rush Starts In Branson

The first Christmas Music flip of the year has taken place in Branson MO.

Earls Family Broadcasting flipped Southern Gospel Solid Gospel 1220 KOMC
Branson to Christmas as soon as the calendar flipped to October with the
addition of new translator 98.1 K251BZ Branson. The new Bransons Classic
Christmas 98.1 is also operating under new KCAX call letters. Earls
HometownDailyNews.com reports that the station will debut and old format
favorite to the area’s airwaves on December 26.

In 2015 the first Christmas launch took place on September 25 as
SummitMedia debuted the format on 1320 WENN/100.1 W261BX. The first flip in
2014 was much later as Easy 93.1 WEZW Wildwood Crest NJ made the move on
October 17.

Five iHeartMedia translator applications utilized in both waves of the AM
Translator Waiver Period have been dismissed and their licenses deleted.
99.3 W257DR Vineland NJ (previously W235BY) was intended to move to 102.5
in Philadelphia, 102.9 W275CI Scotchtown NY (W254CG) with a CP to move to
105.1 Richmond VA, 106.5 W293CW Parkersburg WV (W234BW) moving to 106.9
Cleveland, 104.9 W285FG Shorewood WI (W264CT) moving to 105.5 Dayton OH
have all expired but have been replaced with applications to move a new
translator to serve those same areas and intended AMs (see below). 92.1
K221GH Portland IA (K258CI) moving to 96.9 Des Moines IA rebroadcasting
1460 KXNT has not been replaced yet.
