The Annis Han-D-Mag is around $60 now, and does a pretty reasonable job of
it.

I'd first, though, find out how it got magnetized in the first place. Has
the machine been near anything with a strong magnetic field? Is a head
blocking capacitor bad and throwing DC across the head?

A local studio might be willing to rent you a demagnetizer and a magnetometer
so you can track the source of the problem down.
