Domain Insight 2/23: What's Next For KFMB AM/FM?

As the wait for FCC approval has extended the TEGNA ownership of Variety
Hits 100.7 San Diego KFMB-FM and Conservative Talk 760 KFMB San Diego
beyond the planned February 7 closing date to Local Media San Diego, a few
indicators of what may be coming next for each station have appeared.

The sale has yet to be approved by the FCC, with an amendment filed on
February 10 to note that due to an inadvertent scheduling oversight,
newspaper notice of the application was not timely published. Notices of
the sale were finally published in the San Diego Union Tribune on February
10, 12, 17 and 19. Sources also indicate that approval from the land owner
(former KFMB owner Midwest Television) to transfer the AM tower site lease
from TEGNA has yet to be gained.
