Default Radio Activity new novel

Just read this novel called Radio Activity by Bill Fitzhugh and it reminds me
of the cosmic consciousness of KPPC-FM Pasadena, California, the first FM Rock
Underground Radio station in Southern California, broadcasting hippie rebop
from November 1, 1967 until the entire airstaff was fired on October 24, 1971.

A book that gives the reader a feel of Underground Radio when the disc jockey
would select the music to play, Radio Activity is the new novel by Bill
Fitzhugh, who worked at several FM rock radio stations in the 1970s and 1980s.
Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, he prefers The Band, Little Feat, and
Van Morrison to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Iron Butterfly. Bill Fitzhugh
lives in Los Angeles with his wife and his record collection.

Radio Activity by Bill Fitzhugh (William Morrow 2004): Rick Shannon is an
unemployed FM rock DJ considering a change in career. But just as he begins
selling off his record collection, a job ffer comes from a small station in
Mississippi, where a DJ recently stopped showing up for work. After discovering
an audiotape that might explain the fate of the missing DJ, Rick assumes
another identity: Buddy Miles, PI.

....He pulled Robert Palmer's 1974 gem, Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley. He
looked on the back and found the song that had come to mind. He thought for
another moment, then pulled 10cc, The Original Soundtrack. It contained a song
with the same title as the one on Palmer's album. Was it the same song? Rick
had never thought about it until now. He looked at the writing credits. The
first was by Palmer and the late Lowell George of Little Feat fame. The other
was written by 10cc's Stewart and Gouldman. Different songs, but with the same
potent one-word title: Blackmail...
