Unfortunately we didn't find out about it till this morning, but Dutch
commercial broadcaster Radio 227 has started a weekly programme on the history of offshore radio. The first one was broadcast yesterday evening. The programme, called 'Laissez Faire' [the name of the ship from which the original radio 227 broadcast in the 1960's] is aired between 2000 and 2200 local time on Saturdays. It includes audio fragments and music of the time. Next week Thijs Lieffering, who was one of the first DJ's on Radio Dolfijn, will be the studio guest and will talk about his memories and experiences. Presenter Look Boden is interested in hearing from anyone from the era who would like to contribute. He can be contacted at . Radio 227 is steadily increasing its cable distribution and now reaches a total population of 4.2 million. A live stream is also available on its Web site.
