KTRH Houston drops afternoon News Block
Today is the last day for an afternoon news block on Clear Channel's
KTRH Houston. 5-staffers will be laid off (fired): PM Drive news anchor Jerry Hudson, who has been with the station "maybe" a year, and longtime reporters Darryl Azar (State Capitol Office) and Gail DeLaughter. Not sure who the other victims are. The afternoon news block will be replaced from 1-3 with a talk show by TV personality Deborah Duncan, and from 3-7 with Chris Baker who moves over from co-owned KPRC. So far the long-time Sports beat program continues in the evening but Clear Channel will soon debut an all-sport format on am-790 KBME when it drops its locally grown "music of your life" format. See a separate post on CC's dumping 101-KLOL's rock format for Spanish language programming. -- Paul Van House (remove _removeme_ from mail address for e-mail replies) Radio/TV software and baseball statistics softwa http://www.binxsoftware.com Family Home Page: http://www.binxsoftware.com/vanhouse Church Home Page: http://www.ashfordumc.org |
