Default Ireland - Solas AM call it a day

Religious radio station Solas AM have handed their licence back to the BCI.
The station were awarded a licence to broadcast to Dublin on medium wave in
April 2001 but have not managed to get on air.

The station cites prohibitive expenses involved in AM broadcasting when
compared to FM. They also are unhappy that they have not been given the
option to take a licence for FM broadcasting.
Solas AM ran in to many difficulties in their attempts to get on air. They
had claimed as recently as last July that they were not yet ready to call it
a day.
