This is good news for AM band Dxers !!!
Just came back from the start-up of the new 10 kW output Radio Progreso relay at the Isle of Youth, south of Cuba. The frequency is 730 kHz , and the transmitter is rather close to the Caribbean sea, so the 100 meter high TUNIPOLE antenna with 120 radials should be well heard via sky wave during the evenings. The transmitter is pulse width modulated technology and capable of 125 percent positive peak modulation... Send your QSL requests if you are able to pick up the new Radio Progreso relay to : I will relay them to Progreso's deputy chief engineer , as we both work in the same building. Other Radio Progreso's relays are 900 kiloHertz now in San German with 25 kW PWM transmitter 660 kiloHertz in Santa Clara with 10 kW PWM transmitter and 690 Jovellanos with 12.5 kW PWM also. 73 and good winter AM broadcast band DX season to all Arnie Coro CO2KK (ODXA) |
