Forum staff report, The Forum
Friday, November 19, 2004 Township of Somerset, Wis. A 32-year-old man was killed when he parachuted from a radio tower in this western Wisconsin town, authorities said. St. Croix County Sheriff Dennis Hillstead said it was foggy and Erich Wagar of Brooklyn Park, Minn., may not have known how close he was getting to the ground during the Wednesday jump. Hillstead said Wager and a friend jumped from a tower owned by Infinity Broadcasting. The two jumped from about 940 feet and Wagar's parachute opened, but too late to slow his impact into a hill, the sheriff said. Eric Lunder, 29, of Hutchinson, Minn., jumped shortly after Wagar, and was not injured, Hillstead said. http://www.in-forum.com/articles/ind...1§ion=News |
