Portland's Patriot To Give Way To La Patrona

Salem Media Group will flip Conservative Talk 1640 The Patriot KDZR Lake
Oswego/Portland OR to Regional Mexican La Patrona on Tuesday, June 1.

The new format will duplicate the branding utilized by 1680 KNTS Seattle
since its flip in February. The station will create a flanker to sister
Regional Mexican 93.1 El Rey KRYP Gladstone.

KDZR was one of two Conservative Talk stations in Portland owned by Salem.
The company will continue to operate The Answer 860 KPAM Troutdale. In
addition to time-shifting some of Salems national programs heard on KPAM,
KDZR also carried Westwood Ones Chris Plante, Ben Shapiro, and Michael
Knowles along with Compass Media Networks Joe Pags Show

Roxanne Steele Joins WDRQ's Broadway In The Morning

Cumulus Media has promoted Roxanne Steele to morning co-host at New Country
93.1 WDRQ Detroit.

Steele has been filling-in on mornings alongside Bill Broadway Bertschinger
since Kristina ‘Krissy T’ Williamson departed last November. Steele has
worked part-time at WDRQ since exiting middays at Audacys crosstown Country
99.5 WYCD in 2018. Steele has also hosted middays at 98.7 Amp Radio WDZH
Detroit, spent twelve years at CHR B96 WBBM-FM Chicago, and had stints at
96.3 WDVD Detroit, Fresh 105.9 WCFS Chicago, and Power 92 KKFR Phoenix in
her career.

WDRQ has also swapped out midday voicetrackers as 96.3 KSCS Dallas Rachel
Ryan takes over the shift from 95.5 WFMS Indianapolis Jenna Rae.

CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed Roxanne Steele as Co-Host of
the Broadway In The Morning radio show on Detroit Country station
WDRQ-FM/New Country 93.1. Steele joins Bill “Broadway� Bertschinger, Host
of Broadway In The Morning, which airs Monday through Friday from
5:00am-10:00am. Steele has served as a part-time talent for New Country
93.1 since 2018. Prior to that, she was On-Air Host, Middays, on Audacy’s
WYCD-FM in Detroit. She was also on-air for 12 years with CBS Radio
Chicago, as Afternoon Host on WBBM-FM/B96 and later, as Afternoon Host on
sister station WCFS-FM/Fresh 105.9.

Christopher Gabriel Joins KMJ As Morning Co-Anchor

Cumulus Media News/Talk 580 KMJ/105.9 KMJ-FM Fresno has announced the
addition of Christopher Gabriel as morning co-anchor and host of a weekend
talk show.

Gabriel will join Matt Otstot on Fresnos Morning News from 6-9am. He joins
KMJ from afternoons at One Putt Broadcasting Sports 940 ESPN KFIG Fresno
and has also worked in the market at iHeartMedia Conservative Talk Power
Talk 96.7 KALZ. Prior to coming to Fresno in 2015, Gabriel began his radio
career as a producer and fill-in host at KTLK and KTMY Minneapolis and
spent nearly six years at WDAY Fargo ND.

Newstalk 580, 105.9 KMJ is happy to announce that Christopher Gabriel is
the new host of Fresno’s Morning News. Beginning Monday, the veteran
broadcaster and entertainer joins anchor Matt Otstot and the team to bring
the San Joaquin Valley the best breaking news coverage from 6-9am PT. He
will also host a weekend talk show on the station.

Gabriel was on air in Minneapolis, MN, and Fargo, ND, before heading west
to Fresno where he’s worked in both news-talk and sports. Prior to
launching his radio career, the USC alum worked on stage as a classically

Beasley Media made multiple signal shifts in Fort Myers FL this afternoon.

Spanish CHR Playa 98.1 has moved from W251AL Fort Myers/105.1 W286AK Naples
to the 50kW full powered 99.3 signal as Playa 99.3. The station will
continue to be heard on 98.1 as well in the short-term.

Sports 99.3 ESPN WWCN North Fort Myers moves to 770 WBCN North Fort
Myers/101.5 W268AH Bonita Springs/104.3 W282BY Fort Myers replacing the
Conservative Talk WJBX News Talk. WBCN will now be branded as ESPN
Southwest Florida.

Nio Fernandez, who programs Spanish AC Maxima 92.5 WYUU Tampa, has been
promoted to Director of Latin Formats for the company adding direct
oversight for all of the companys Spanish language brands including WWCN.

Beasley Media Group has unveiled the following format signal swaps and
promotion within the company’s Southwest Florida-based radio properties:

The Playa Adult Hispanic format, originally launched 2016 and heard on
WRXK-HD2, Playa 98.1 Salsa Y Mas, has officially moved to WWCN 99.3FM’s
50,000 watt signal and has been rebranded as The New Playa 99.3-Los Éxitos
de Hoy y Favoritas de Ayer (Today’s hits and Yesterday’s favorites).The

In addition, Nio Fernandez has been named Beasley Media Group Director of
Latin Formats. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all

In addition, ESPN Radio has returned to its original frequency, 770 AM
WBCN-AM (formerly known as WJBX-AM) as “ESPN Southwest Florida�. The format
will be simulcast the on translators 101.5 FM, and 104.3-FM. The station’s

on WBCN has been discontinued.
