Today sees the launch of a new local radio station and Swansea RFC wing Nicky Jones was on hand to help give it a boost. Swansea Local Radio was due to go on air for month-long trial as it aims to win a permanent radio licence. The station is based at St Helen's and winger Jones is helping to promote new station. Budding broadcasters are also being given the chance to be a part of the fledgling station. A spokesman said: "This is an exciting project which is an opportunity for the Swansea city population to have access to a different kind of radio station, one that meets the cultural needs of the people of the city of Swansea." Mark Williams, who has also worked for BBC and Sky, will present the morning show. Swansea University lecturer Binda Singh has been appointed as the station's project director. http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/di...ernalSearch&ke yword=radio&formname=sidebarsearch |
