"Pirate" 756 project
American businessman Mike Spenser, who earlier this year moved from
Great Britain to one of the islands in the Åland archipelago in the Baltic, will not be granted permission to run his "Pirate Radio Productions" company. The reason is his avowed inability to speak and write Swedish, which is a sine qua non requirement for anyone wishing to pursue business on the islands, says the Provincial government of Åland when explaining why they turned down his application. News reports at http://www.tidningen.aland.net/se/nyhet.asp?newsID=4760 and also at http://www.radiotv.aland.fi/news.pbs?&news[show_news] =1668&news[instance]=32 Spenser´s visa expires at the end of May. The future of his 756 pirate venture is now uncertain. (Henrik Klemetz, DXLD) |
