As an Aussie I was very sad to hear of the passing of Bob Betcher last
weekend.

Bob was the intrepid radio writer for the Stuart News. It's people
like Bob who helped give Florida's Treasure Coast a true sense of
community.

Unfortunately radio writers are almost becoming a thing of the past as
the "live and local" nature of radio continues to decline as the
beancounters sit in their counting-houses counting out their money.

I've shared a few e-mails with Bob over the years about AM stereo. He
was a great man - and truly loved radio.
