Default Radio Crazy

The "Radio Crazy" once owned a "Gibson Girl" liferaft
transmitter. Those in the know may recall it
transmitted on 500 KHz and used a balloon or kite with
a 300 ft. antenna. The ground wire was tossed into the
seal. I understand the range was about 150 miles and
the output tube was a 12A6 with perhaps 5 watts
output. It transmitted an SOS using MCW.

When you are a ham 56 years you get exposed to this
kind of stuff! Hi!

73,

Meyer Gottesman, W6GIV
aka "The Radio Crazy"
